Writing

I used to finish a book and move straight to the next one. A few months later, I could remember whether I liked it, but not the ideas that made it worth reading.

A very small habit Now I write a few sentences after finishing. What changed my mind? What would I tell a friend? Is there something I want to try? The notes don't have to become a review.

Connections over completion A reading log becomes interesting when one book points to another, or when an idea turns up in a project. Those connections are more valuable to me than a yearly total.

Keep it easy The best system is one I will actually use. A title, an author, a date, and a short note are enough. This bookshelf is my attempt to keep that habit public.
