Building my personal knowledge assistant

I've accumulated information across notes, projects, books, and things I've written. I wanted one interface that could search across all of it.

Why I'm building this Traditional personal websites are good for browsing, but they still make visitors figure out where the information lives. I want someone to ask about my experience and find useful answers backed by the actual content on this site.

The approach The website itself remains the source of truth. Writing, books, projects, and résumé information live as structured content, separate from presentation. The first step is a fast local search that works without an AI service.

What comes next Later, an indexing step can split the content into passages, create embeddings, and retrieve relevant sources. Generated answers should link to those sources and admit when the notebook doesn't contain an answer. A small, useful search is a better starting point than a convincing answer with no evidence.
